Annalise joined our Sixth Form in September 2010 after achieving a pleasing set of GCSE results from a suburban secondary school. She easily settled into her new learning environment and adapted well to the rigours of Advanced Levels. Annalise is a friendly, helpful and positive member of our college and is respected and well-liked by staff and students. As a student she is meticulous and committed, being totally aware of what is expected of her to achieve. A view shared from her subject comments below:

A highly motivated and passionate Photography student Annalise has shown that she is able to work independently as well as in a team. She has a passion for photography that sees her partake in the subject whenever possible outside of college as well as during lesson times. She is always keen to try out new techniques and processes and will mostly experience successful results. Annalise has a keen eye for image and has proven, through her photography practice that she understands key compositional rules as well as the importance of tone, contrast and light. Annalise will always show enthusiasm for new photographers work and is quick to find links to her own as well as gaining valuable influence from their work.

Annalise is an extremely able Psychology student. She has a fluent written style and is very well focused in her approach to studying. She takes responsibility for her own learning and is determined to fully understand the material and to make use of it. Her A2 essay work has been of a very high standard and this leads me to believe that she will achieve well in her second year modules. Annalise contributes well to the class and makes some very perceptive comments and asks insightful questions.

Annalise is a conscientious student who is committed to learning German and continues to make excellent progress, being always diligent with exceptional organisational skills. She works well in class either individually, in pairs or groups. To apply and extend her learning Annalise regularly attends extra-curricular lessons with the Foreign Language Assistant. Annalise’s power of analysis of German texts has improved throughout the course. She has good comprehension skills and copes increasingly well with a variety of tone and register. Annalise is able to communicate effectively in German in a range of tenses, both active with fluency and accuracy. Annalisa is beginning to develop a sound understanding of grammatical constructions, and can apply this knowledge to extended writing.

Annalise is an exceptional student, indeed her practical production work for AS Media Studies has consistently demonstrated natural visual flair and an ability to respond to a production brief in a creative and pro-active manner. Annalise pushes herself and shows a willingness to experiment with photographic imagery, style, composition and design. Annalise has also excelled in the theory units, enjoying the discursive aspects, whilst producing written work of a consistently high standard that demonstrates fluency and accuracy in terms of language use and referencing.

It is clear that Annalise’s main passion and drive revolves around photography being immediately apparent when in conversation with her that this is the only career path for her. She already is an accomplished photographer who is also proud of the range of cameras she owns. It is without hesitation that I highly recommend Annalise for a place on her chosen course as she will prove an asset to you and her chosen vocation.
